The company is looking for alternative methods of disinfection.

Kiev ensure a sufficient amount of chlorine required for disinfection of drinking water. About this informed the head of the Board – General Director of PJSC “AK “Kyivvodocanal” Dmitry Novitsky.

According to him, today the reserves are sufficient, and the company is looking for an alternative to chlorine.

“Ukraine is now considering various methods of water disinfection as an alternative to chlorine. Considering several options for the replacement of this disinfecting on a modern and more secure – of low-concentrated sodium hypochlorite, mixed oxidants, chlorine dioxide,” – said in the message of the enterprise.

Recall, the only domestic manufacturer of liquid chlorine Dniproazot announced in mid-June about the cessation of production of this substance. Some of the industry residual chlorine left from a week to 20 days in connection with what are expected to be disruptions in the supply of drinking water to households.
