The regulator examined more than five hundred currency exchanges.
In the first half in Kiev, and 17 regions, the national Bank checked 506 points for currency exchange, which relate to nonbank financial institutions.
“The main shortcomings identified during inspections of NFU is the failure of the materials on written request of an authorized employee of the regulator, the implementation of foreign exchange transactions without documenting, mismatch of cash balances in the cash accounting documents. The results identified during the audit deficiencies in the work of the structural subdivisions of the NFU sent letters to the heads of relevant financial institutions with requirements to provide explanations and to eliminate the shortcomings,” – said in the message NBU.

The staff of the regulator also found 39 illegal currency exchange offices in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Lviv, Rivne, Kharkiv, Cherkasy regions and the capital. Information on illegal currency exchange points, the NBU has transferred to law enforcement agencies.
Recall that last year, the NBU has exercised 1018 inspections of structural units (exchange currency) non-Bank financial institutions.
