Some wanted unification of the East Slavic peoples, others did not oppose the unification with the UOC-KP.

The procession of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate in the afternoon paralyzed the Central part of Kiev. Thousands of believers prayed at the monument to Prince Vladimir, and then went to the monastery, says the story TSN.19:30.

In the morning the participants gathered from across the country by bus, most went all night. “We pray for peace, for love, for the Orthodox faith. For the unification of the peoples of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus”, – said the pilgrims. Closer to lunch believers swarmed Vladimir hill, where stands the monument to the Baptizer of Rus. To shrines and relics, except the priests, was missing politicians, mainly from the “opposition bloc”. Near Boyko, Novinsky, Dobkin and Vilkul was seen ex-speaker of the Parliament Lytvyn.

The believers prayed today at the monument to Prince Vladimir in Kiev, and then went to Laura. Without provocation. Militiamen detained three guys who were shouting before the move “Glory to Ukraine”.

The procession was managed by the men in black cassocks with portable radios, secured by “Cossacks”. Front of the Cabinet, a few people began to shout “Glory to Ukraine” – they twisted and took the bus militiamen. “I can’t shout: Glory to Ukraine? Glory to Ukraine death to the Muscovites”, – was indignant the detainees.

Near the head of the UOC MP Metropolitan Onufry was the Deputy Vadim Novinsky. He acknowledged that the Church helped to organize this procession. “For me, at least the little mite will be a contribution to peace. For me to walk a great joy and honor,” – said the politician. Participants of the rally shouted slogans in support of “canonical Orthodoxy” of Metropolitan Onufriy and Patriarch Kirill.

The procession of the Moscow Patriarchate has already become the second in honor of the anniversary of the baptism of Kiev – the first streets of the capital on Tuesday passed the priests and faithful of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. On Saturday the procession is organized by a Kiev Patriarchate. Metropolitan Zhytomyr Augustine knows about it and agrees that the Orthodox of Ukraine should unite. “Who is against? The split must be overcome, but it is necessary to do humanly, and not enforced,” he said. But while the Orthodox will pray separately: the faithful of the Moscow Patriarchate whole night in the monastery, and the UOC-KP in the Vladimir Cathedral.
