Russia will demand a special status for the Donbass before the introduction of peacekeepers
Russia wants approval on a permanent basis the special status of Donbass before the introduction of UN peacekeepers on the demarcation line.
This was stated by the Plenipotentiary representative of the Russian Federation in the Trilateral contact group (TAG), Boris Gryzlov, Interfax reported.
“The deployment of UN peacekeepers on the contact line in the Donbas will become real only after Ukraine will make the law on the special status of Donbass is fundamentally important amendment,” he said before the meeting of the TAG.
Gryzlov drew attention to the fact that these amendments should be agreed within the contact group.
“They will concern the introduction of a special status on an ongoing basis according to the formula Steinmeier”, – he explained.

In addition, the head of the country-occupier believes that the introduction of the peacekeeping contingent should occur in coordination with the leaders of the terrorists “LNB” and “DND”.
The foreign Ministry stressed that Putin issued a statement wants to distort the idea of the peacekeeping mission and present aggression in the Donbas internal conflict of Ukraine. The diplomats also recalled that in 2015 the head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has officially sent to the UN request to deploy peacekeeping operations, but Russia as a state aggressor constantly sabotaged the proposals of Ukraine, refusing to consider the appeal to the UN security Council and even claimed that the treatment was not.
Earlier it was reported that the President Petro Poroshenko plans in the coming months to submit to the UN General Assembly the idea of deployment of peacekeeping mission in the Donbass.
During preliminary telephone conversations of the leaders of the “Normandy format”, he stressed on the need for the introduction in the Donbass UN peacekeeping mission with the mandate of the UN security Council.
